City is requesting many repairs

I'm 67 and live alone. I had a house that I bought 2 and a half years ago. I had many repairs done and went broke fixing things. I moved out of the house but ended up renting it out. I never charged a deposit because the tenants said they would fix some of those things for the deposit.
Now, the city has somehow jumped in and given a list of repairs that must be done within a month. I live off of social security and it is pretty low. I don't make much from the rental since I have a mortgage. I have tried many agencies to get help with repairs but was denied because I don't live in the house. What can I do?

I would recommend you sell the property. Unless you are handy enough to make the repair needed yourself. The cost to do the work could put you in the poor house. As well as the fines from the city for not getting the work done. I'm a few years younger than you and thinking of selling out my properties. Tenants can be such a pain. And in court tenants seem to have the law leaning more on their side to allow complete control.
