The use of such lists is not acceptable everywhere. Michigan and Pennsylvania have restricted the use of dog breed profiling by insurance companies. Ten other states have pending legislation that would similarly prohibit companies to deny insurance to someone based only on the breed of dog owned by their household.
A landlord should always check their local and State laws, even if an Insurance company permitted a Dangerous Dog under the policy, the landlord could run a foul of other laws and ordinances that prohibit such dangerous dogs.
Here is a website that list State and local laws that could affect the landlord.

Just a note on that list -- it focuses only on laws restricting pit bulls; if other breeds are likewise restricted they mention it. But if breeds are restricted and do not include pit bulls, they do not list that locale.
