writ of restitution - Landlord Forum thread 328803

writ of restitution by pododub (MI) on December 17, 2014 @19:25

The renter got the eviction judgement from the court. Tomorrow is the last day. She hasn't moved out yet. Asked for more time. Her rent is 3 months behind. Of course we would not let that happen. Seems like we are going to need the writ of restitution. Have the officers taking her stuff out of the house. This is the first time I have done this. Hate to do it on other people. But have no choice. Anyone has any experience?

Stand your ground. Treat this as just another part of the of the landlording BUSINESS. Don't bring you emotions into it. But, if you want to, think of it this way ------ instead of you giving money to other charities, like the Salvation Army,or several food banks, you just gave up 3 months of your rent(income) so she would have a free roof over her head. You have fulfilled your moral obligation, and now it's time someone else stepped up and provided either rent or a roof for her.

Refer her to the Red Cross, or Salvation Army. They can help her find another place or shelter.
