Okay, so no woman in her 40s has ever been the victim of an assault by unknown men?

I have to be honest, but just from reading a few of these posts, it seems to many people became LL's and all common sense or reality of the world we live ran right out the window.

I do not want to imply it's because you no longer "work" for a living, because I am sure many of you still do. However, I think it may be a good idea to reconsider some of your statements and positions, because it really does read like you are from another planet.

Which is very sad and unfortunate.

Stop back and judge again when you own property of your own.

    I don't understand, who says I don't?

' It takes more than ownership to be an effective landlord'

That is true, but the poster I replied to is not a landlord, and has no idea what's involved in being an effective landlord.

I think you missed the point...40 something is old enough to be organized about providing your rental history and not balk at filling out an application.

It seems that you're under the mistaken impression that being a landlord isn't hard work. Obviously, you have no idea what being a landlord entails. So actually, this reads like YOU are from another planet.

    No, no.

I, am a full time, stay-at-home mom. I know all about working hard/hard work and not doing a 9-5.

I, also know, that I no longer "work" for a living.
I no longer "work" outside of my home to pay the bills, keep the lights on, and keep a roof over my head, as I once did.

You are taking my statement out of context. If you do not understand the difference between the two, than I can't help you.

Like I said, you obviously have no idea what being a landlord entails.
What would you propose? by CCRider (CA) on March 25, 2015 @22:25 [ Reply ]
I'm curious. If you were a landlord and were screening tenants, would you not require a credit check? SS#'s are required in order to do that.

How would you, personally, handle an applicant who would not give you one? Based on their fear of having their identity stolen?
