To accept a pet or not to accept a pet? pet addendum

The Pet Addendum that Protects the Landlord's Property

The LPATM Pet addendum will help protect you and your property when renting to pet owners. This pet agreement is a revocable privilege extended to the tenant in exchange for a promise and guarantee that the pet will be supervised responsibly, causing no damages to the dwelling or disturbances to neighbors.

What Does the Pet Lease Agreement Establish?

This pet lease agreement makes the tenant fully liable and responsible for any injury or damages as a result of the pet(s).

The agreement contains a description of the pet(s), a detailed list of the Pet Agreement Rules. It also includes the optional Pet Deposit and/or Pet Fee.

What Landlords Should Do Before Utilizing the Pet Addendum

Sometimes it becomes necessary to accept a pet in a rental. Whenever possible, visit the tenant at his/her current home before giving approval. (Even in cases without pets, that is a good idea.) Once you are satisfied with the tenant, add this Pet Agreement to your lease. We feel the ingredients included in it help to make up one of the best Pet Agreements around.
