Your insurance company has their own list of aggressive breeds. At a minimum, follow that list.

I agree. Cover your ass with your insurance company. I personally don't allow pets in my building (hypocritical since I live there with 2 dogs). If one of my tenants expresses an interest in getting a pet I just offer them a night taking care of my dogs. No takers so far. lol

Follow your own instinct as a landlord and get your own impression of the dog. My landlord did. I have an American Bulldog and a Blue-nose Pit Bull and both are sweeter than pie to myself, visitors in my home and everyone and every other animal outside of my home. The people are who you should be worried about. They are the one(s) who train(ed) the dog(s) in the first place. Would also give you insight as to how they will most likely treat the apartment too.
