Buy a can of spray and get over it.

What part of "buying a can of spray doesn't work" don't you get?

If it was only that simple...

It is that simple. But I am not going to give a grown woman a lesson on what to buy and how to apply it.

Actually, Raid is a lot stronger than 90% of what exterminators will spray in a home (Osha standards and all). From your post it seems like you have only seen one. An infestation will show hundreds or thousands. The bottom of your shoe works really well. Try a bug bomb too. Make sure that all food is in storage containers and not left out. Wipe down all surfaces. Eliminate their food source and they are not likely to stick around. No standing water either.

This was a common problem in AZ even in the nice communities.

How have you made your repair requests? They must be in writing for legal purposes and you must give permission to enter for the tech. I used to get people requesting repairs all the time but wouldn't let them in unless they were home... Needless to say, it's tough to get a repair guy to show up for a non-emergency repair at 10PM on a Sunday!

Try doing an internet search for bug solutions. I hear that Borax powder is the way to go for a preventative measure.

I have only seen the one and it hasn't come back out to play as of yet. Some say smashing a roach is not a good thing due to what their eggs can go through and still hatch. If you smash one, bleach everything that touched it or throw it away. I also heard a mixture of sugar and baking soda does wonders due to the fact that roaches cant "pass gas" They explode (internally maybe?) They go for the sugar and can't help ingesting the baking soda. You can also put a perimeter of Dawn liquid soap or Vasoline around the rim of you sink to prevent them getting water. Supposedly, they wont cross it. For a more natural defense, look up NEEM oil. I have done a ton of research over this critter and that's what I have found so far.
