Re: Cockroaches - Landlord Forum thread 193676

Re: Cockroaches by Tenant on December 28, 2009 @22:20

Thanks for not jumping all over me. I looked at my lease and there is nothing about pest situations. I wasn't sure on how to tackle it since I have never had to exterminate bugs before.

My sister came to visit a few months after I moved in here and insisted she saw a roach. I called the office and asked if they could get someone out here. They came out to spray with no issues.

When I saw the bug today, I assumed they would have someone come out just like before but the lady was pretty rude about it and that's why I wanted to know what my rights and responsibilities were.

For all you LL's, I feel for ya. I used to help an elderly friend with her rentals and it was chaos to say the least. These places would get destroyed and my friend was never fully compensated from faulty renters. Her houses were around the Indy race track so it was all about crazy parties which led to large holes in the walls, house fires ect...She eventually sold EVERYTHING! Some LL's (not all..and I'm not saying names *cough cough rude poster) are troopers. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
