It's simple. Verification of income is a requirement for screening. If you can't verify income through a reliable third party and/or paychecks/tax returns, then I don't rent. If I can't prove how much you're making, I can't make an adequate determination of whether or not you can afford the unit. This goes for men and women. Also, I tend to have clauses in my lease which state that no illegal activity is expected. If you know she's turning tricks, then how could you rent to her? She could make a million a year for all I care, but if she can't prove it, it's worthless to me.
