No offense Katiekate, you normally give great advice, but some municipalities have more specific rules on this matter. For instance, in West Seneca, where I live (just outside of Buffalo), you cannot publish that you do not accept Section 8.

Since I own and/or management properties in 3 NY cities..I never knew this was specific to the city.
You would think that the 'rule' to protect sect 8 from open discrimination would be more a city sort of thing.

Yeah, just wanted to give you the heads up since I tried it years ago and my add was listed without it. I inquired why and they said, in short, that Section 8 is a government sponsored program to help people, therefore you can't exclude them based on use. Very similar to being unable to allow a tenant to run a legal, insured, daycare center out of the apartment. Basically, it's for the greater good of the people and the area. I honestly just find other ways to exclude them. If they are on Section 8, odds are they can't afford their own housing, which in turn means they don't have the income and/or credit to qualify for my units anyways.
