AGAIN, you may feel cheated, but you have not been cheated. The landlord has followed all the legal requirements that you yourself are a party to. If you don't want to be moved out for a certain period you should have fought to maintain a termed lease or should buy your own place.
There is no sympathy for you, you have not been cheated. Inconvenienced, maybe, but not cheated. For all you know the landlord's house just burned down and they need a unit to stay in. Who do you think would be more inconvenienced if you try to stretch this out?
There is no way to game the system since the landlord approached the situation in an acceptable manner for all aspects of the law.
