It seems like MA law issues arise in this forum regularly. What is it with MA? Are they very pro-tenant? I have had this idea in my mind that MA was a liberal, progressive state. Not sure why I think that.

Yes...very pro-tenant.

Judges will give tenants time and more time to "make it right" with the landlord. I never managed to evict for destroying one of the units....not until the health department declared one a disaster area!!!

However, once the landlord has a solid case, followed all the laws, the court system is actually better at helping a landlord actually collect money owed.

I don't have property there any more, but if the price was right, the neighborhood right, I wouldn't be so concerned I would turn down a good opportunity.
