Re: List Tenant's dependents on Lease? - Landlord Forum thread 330975

About your first question only----- I ask for the names and ages of all potential occupants on the APPLICATION form. On the LEASE, all occupants age 18 or older will be listed on the lease, and each must sign the lease. There is no need to put children down on a lease, as you should already have their info on the app form.

where my properties are located the school age children must be listed on the lease in order to enroll in school... too many trying to slip into my good school district from the inner city without meeting the residency requirements.

    That's something I did not know, nor would have ever thought of. Does that also mean that a family buying a home would also have to list their children on mortgage papers?

      I was curious so I looked it up. To register a child in my school district:

      Attach one of the following to substantiate residency in the district:
      􀂇 Copy of sales agreement/contract with settlement date
      􀂇 Current real estate tax bill
      􀂇 Lease rental agreement

      Through my signature, I/we verify that the above stated information is accurate and that the above-named student reside in the XXXXX School District. District residence is defined by nightly residence with the above-named parent or legal guardian at the above stated address for at least fifty percent of the time. If investigation discloses that these statements are false or that you are not a legal resident of the XXXXXX School District, you will be liable for tuition for the period of time of nonresidency.

      and another spot on the paperwork:
      Proof of residency in the district;
      1. If you own your home 􀂲􀀃copy of your latest tax bill or copy of your recent sales agreement; or
      2. If you rent/lease your home 􀂲􀀃copy of the complete lease
      agreement with current dates.
      *Please note 􀂲􀀃the student(s) must be listed on the lease as an occupant(s).
