Honestly, I frown upon this type of payment and worked through a similar issue. A had a tenant use his bank to send me the check. Unfortunately, I didn't recognize what it was and it got buried in mail for a while. The minute you instruct a third party to initiate this type of payment, you lose all control over how long it will take. It's one thing to lose control over the fact that you mailed it in appropriately and the post office has it, but with regard to a third party having processing time to write the check or issue an ACH and any other timing differences, that's too much out of your control.
