More than 10 years ago was the last time I placed an ad for a vacant property. I had a prospect apply for a newly renovated property. After that she announced she was applying to Sect 8.

Well...the neighborhood wasnt the best in the city (not horrible, but still not top). So, I agreed. What I was put through in the inspection process was totally ludicrous. Most of what they required me to do..I simply refused to mangle the property to their "specs". I failed the inspection...the tenant could not move in. Great! (Example..they wanted my bushes cut down. They insisted that permanent stained glass windows had to be take out an replaced with double hung windows. A three page list of pure nonsense like that. Yeah..go away).

If a landlord refuses to mess up their property to suit the inspector...the law cannot force them to. As long as my property passes the CO in the city, sect 8 housing can go whistle.

Well...now it doesn't matter. Only referrals from the university ever get to apply for my properties.
