Re: termites in my apt. - Landlord Forum thread 341238

Re: termites in my apt. by Anonymous on November 30, 2015 @01:03

i recently discovered termites in my place and my friend, who is the cosigner on my agreement, called terminix because i have told landlord twice and he wont do anything about. Terminix came out and inspected. They confirmed termites, dry-wall and subs. However, the terminix man, A??@, thought my friend was the landlord, even though my friend never said he was. And, therefore, said if he had known this he would not have came because the request has to come from property owner. So, in conclusion I was not able to get him to write a report, he said the only way he could write up a report was if it was approved by the owner. So, all I have from terminix is his word, if he is honest and a business card he gave me. Terminix is not suppose to give tenant a report, it goes to landlord but only if landlord ok'ed the inspection. I have a bad infestation problem too and have had thoughts of them in my bedding so I decided to look it up. That is what brought me here. I just got done spraying my bed, throwing away bedding etc. and putting dresser and all clothes outside. I have not seen actual termites on my bedding. What I'm seeing is millions of little shiney spots all over bedding, pillows and alot of my clothes. Workers are white and can sometimes be identified by a shiney silver shimmer. I'm wondering if these are babies. As I found the same glitter like spots all in my baseball card collection. I was able to actually spot a baby termite along the edge of one card and put it in a baggie along with larger white workers I collected throughout the house which I showed terminix man and he confirmed they were termites. So, my question is, is the glitter spots baby termites or could it be dust from glass dust. My neighbor has a hobby/business sanding glass objects. Can anyone ease my mind.....this is driving me batty! I've had them go thru plastic to get to cardboard and they have gotten into all my wooden spoons, which has left a gooey black residue where they entered, if they are termites??
