Re: Want to clean evictions off my record

Same thing happened to me. I rented in an apartment complex that was sold. Not sure to who, I asked management for contact numbers but they would only give me the name of the company that supposedly bought it, no phone number or address except the apartment office address and told me that all service requests and rent were supposed to be directed to office staff. I couldn't find ale hit company under the supposed buyer name and the current management ignored all of my requests and complaints. I continued to fight to get the place checked out by the health department and the fire department even wrote to the attorney general and BBB and renters rights advocates in Arizona, had 3 remediation specialists and plumbers come out to assess the damages from a couple of leaks that management was made aware of in February, but never had them fixed properly. Come July after being severely harassed by management I also withheld my rent because the place had mold and a sagging ceiling from an upstairs leak and was inhabitable. Even with proof of prior knowledge of the conditions and all of my letters to the above agencies and the management company itself, the judge ruled in favor of the landlord. It's really unfair and I am also seeking a way to have the judgement removed. Landlords shouldn't be allowed to be slumlords and tenants should have the right to withhold rent for an apartment that has become uninhabitable due to negligence on maintenance and managements part.
