I am a renter have been in this house since January, my water bills are a steady 50$... Well one day I see the water company running across my front porch... I didn't know who it was at first so I ran outside to see what the problem was, first off they tell me I have a hellatious water leak,an it was inside the meter box... They told me that it had been leaking for awhile, but there was no loss in pressure to water in the house nor had my bill gone up at all..as soon as they told me it was a water leak an they said it was on my side I called my property manager an then the land Lord.... The water company said that, that leak caused me to use 258000 gallons of water... My water bill is 910$ they did a reduction to 600$... My rent is 650$.. How I see it is either the landlord is either responsible for the bill, or I pay the whole bill an just pay the landlord 50$ cause that would be my whole rent.. Not to mention I'm a single mother raising three children.. How does my landlord expect me to pay the full water bill plus all the rent.... Just wondering what should be done needing advice...thanks
