ex wife wants to move back - Landlord Forum thread 348819

ex wife wants to move back by dave (florida) on October 18, 2016 @08:12

my ex wife abandoned me and her property 5 years ago. I have been living in the house keeping it up both inside and property wise. the house in in foreclosure due to the fact she no longer wants it.
she calls me yesterday stating that she wants to move back in for ten days due to the fact that she is getting evicted from her place of residence for not being able to pay the lot rent on the mobile home. she says that she has her boyfriend with her.
I tell her I don't want her here. she says the house is still hers, even though she abandoned it.
am I required to let her move back for the 10 days?

If no one is paying the house note/mortgage. Then anyone can move in. You have no more rights to be there than she has. If she moves back. In ten days, she will have mail coming in her name, and she and her boyfriend will be new room mates for you. Keep her out if you can is what I would advise. Although you have no legal grounds to do so in my opinion.

ex wife, so there was a divorce 5 years ago. was there a property settlement made regarding the home? if so, who got the house?

"she no longer wants it? does that mean she is still on the title?

no quit claim deed when divorced?

You have no right to be there. She has no right to be there. why don't you call the bank, that now owns the house, and ask them to refer you to some good legal help?
