deposit all the checks right away. if any are good at least you have some money. evict him and settle the rest in court.
go to his bank inside and ask if there is enough money in his account to cash a certain check. if so cash it. rinse and repeat.
once a tenant starts lying then 100% of what he says later is a lie also.
