Re: Aggressive Breeds? - Landlord Forum thread 355852

Re: Aggressive Breeds? by Melani (Texas) on January 26, 2018 @15:00

I have owned 5 female Rottweilers in the last 20 years, usually 2 Rotts at a time. I had rotts before i had my children. My rotts were loving and tolerant of my children, however my smartest rott always disliked 1 child....and i supervised their interaction. there was never agression, but i saw my rotts body language for that child. That same rott, loved to pull kids "to safety " all over the pool or when in a lake, all the kids loved to play with her in the pool.

I own my first male rott now...14 months old and a lover all the way of everyone! my vet complimented me on how well socialized he is.

this is a very smart breed. treat them well, socialize them well, never chain them or leave them outdoors only!!! they can't protect the people they love if they are outdoors all the time. this breed has an inherent sense of right and wrong. don't get them as a show off breed, but only if you are able to provide a loving home.

unfortunately, my rotts w regular medical care only lived to 7-8 yoa. a shame, for such an incredible breed.
