My rental agent said that 90% of renters have pets that look for apartments. Is that a true statement? I have a no pet policy.

Charge people with pets (dogs/cats) $50.00 mo. extra rent for each pet. Why should animals get free rent? Tenants must agree to pay for any pet damage in lease. Our town has a pet ordinance limit of 2 pets per household otherwise they deem it a "kennel".

One thing I can say, is that people with a pet stay longer--fewer options open to them. Just screen the pet well and charge an extra deposit. Meaning licensure in accordance with your community, shot records etc.

I also no pet policy. I feel the damage and cleaning expenses outweigh the pet fee and additional charge.
