I'm seriously considering asking to go ahead with the hearing tomorrow to get it over with. I've been before this judge before, right after he was placed on the bench. He was not familiar with the property code. He believes in being equal, not fair, so he cut my claim in half. He then told the tenants not to worry, because in Texas, it's very difficult to collect on a judgment.

My petition is already for over $11,000. The last payment I received was on April 7th, and they are still in the house. I've been supporting their family long enough - I was preparing to evict when the moratorium was instituted.

She is an RN who has had lots of overtime. She can pay the rent, but she won't. She is full of excuses. She is now paying for a team of trial attorneys. I sent a 3 day notice, since I wasn't planning to have an attorney. Although it was more than 11 days after that I filed my petition, I'm not sure if I can ask for attorney fees; I have asked for court costs. I'm not sure it's worth it to pay for an attorney and drag things on, when I know I will never see a penny. It seems like more money lost.
