My tenant moved out from my basement which is ilegal for rent. Although it is a basement, but everything is very nice, and very well quipted.
Now, he left with a dirty, and graffiti wall, and as well as the damaged stove. He now agreed to pay the dmanage stove, but refused to pay cleaning and repainting. Claim sue me if I deduct the expense from Security deposit.

What the court would do for case like this?

You were renting out an illegal apartment, and you are worried about security deposit for cleanup? You'd be lucky if he didn't get code enforcement involved and cause you all sorts of nightmares. I have no idea what the court would say, but do you really want to find out?
