Old tires left behind by tenant - Landlord Forum thread 362720

Old tires left behind by tenant by Thomas on February 14, 2024 @11:41

Hello,
We have a tenant who when moved out left some tires behind in the back yard. We moved them to the curb for large item pickup to take away. What would you do? Probably won't get any fine paid if we were to bill for a waste removal.

Thank you,
Tom

I would do exactly what you did. If you still have their security deposit, take the cost of the tires out of that. If their deposit is already used up by you, or you have already given it back, you're out of luck. You'll just have to eat the cost yourself now. I, personally, don't chase tenants down for money, unless it's for more than $2,000. Just not worth my time, or the headaches involved.
