|Notice of Lease Non-Renewal|
Discovered that the Current Tenants ARE NOT What You Want Anymore?
THE NOTICE OF LEASE NON-RENEWALis a type of lease termination notice for a soon expiring lease you want to end with your current tenants. Most tenants expect to re-new the lease or stay on a "month to month" after the original lease expires, but this form tells them in a friendly yet business-like way to leave while not being harsh or too intimidating.
Often we become "stuck" with tenants who may have started out alright, but start to go down hill after a while. We usually feel trapped into keeping them because it is just easier to put up with their annoyances than to replace them with a better tenant.
The time (30 -60 days) prior to lease expiration is the perfect opportunity to ask them to leave in a way that they feel they are not being ousted. The tenants know your obligation to them was for the term of the lease. You should not feel obligated to extend a lease and hold on to tenants who are not living up to their responsibilities or who are making your life more difficult than it has to be.
