Ask landlord's mortgage company whether they care if the debtor is "kind and thoughtful" or uncaring or unconcern[ed]". I don't know about you, but I don't have enough free time for my family, much less to spend it on making call after call to line up help for someone without the incentive or foresight to do it for herself.

Why would your mortgage company even be involved in such a situation? Unless you do not have proper operating funds on hand.
If you do not have time to make the call(s) now, how will you be able to find the time to proceed with an eviction.
It appears that you rather find an excuse than to make a call!

If you or I wanted to do charitable work setting up services for the elderly or infirm, I bet we'd both be working in that field and getting paid for it. I'm not a social worker, I'm a landlord.

what a stupid remark! how does that help solve the problem for the op? all it does is show your poor character and thinking. so many excuses for not lifting a finger to help someone in need by just a phone call!
