This might be a bad idea if your address number is on the mailbox and emergency responders cannot locate the proper address quickly. Better rethink this advice?

I disagree. Emergency responders look for a HOUSE or Apartment number, which are supposed to be on the house, or on a building with many apartments in it. They do not look for mail boxes. Again, I know of no city, county, state, or federal law that requires anyone to have a mail box. Do you know of any?

If the house sets back off the road aways, how would an emergency responder locate the right house if the number is on the house instead of on the mailbox? Do you expect them to pull into the drive and go up to the house to see if they are at the correct location.

I live in a community (HOA) where the house number is require to be on the mailbox and cannot be on the house or curb.
