If you don't want to fix it, tell them so. Give a reason or don't but don't make up excuses and lies.

That said, I would get in there with a level, take measurements and photos so that if they withhold rent you can prove that downhill skiing would not have been possible.

I agree with all, and would have no problem explaining it's unnecessry and not putting in a new floor. And, of course take pictures to cover myself if there was a problem before. I'm not sure I would give them an "early out" because of this. Only if they came me a lot of hassle - would I let them out of their fixed lease.
